Waking up to a beautiful overcast on what should have been a scorching hot Friday, couldn't ask for more!
Everyone was working to complete their own projects.

When all goes well time fly's by so fast. We didn't even finalize the decision to leave for D1GP until 4pm. At that time we had to start preparing for the last minute trip.
7 pm rolls around.... still haven't left yet...
Finally, its 9:30pm we just finished our IN and OUT pre-trip dinner on Dysart and I-10.
We had to make up for lost time and nearly 100 mph helped us to do so.
I received a call 10 minutes on the road which changed our plans and destination.
Instead of heading straight to Anaheim we were now heading to San Diego. We had already passed the free way we would have normally taken to San Diego so now we were on a detour. Little did we know this detour would change everything!
Driving on the 78 freeway could be compared to an old country movie...
The only lights you see were the housed spread miles apart. All country/rural area, fields for miles and miles somewhere around 100 miles before we arrived to the hills.
During the detour we passed Glamis, which was the first time I had actually been to Glamis even though we did not stop. There were many quadding as the weather was near perfect. I had heard so much about Glamis but never experienced it till that day.
Miles and miles continue to pass by until we finally reach our desired freeway, the 5.
Now there was no longer harvest fields but instead there were hills; some were even cautioned to have "sliding rocks" huge boulders sitting on the side of the freeway, not cool.
Though the worst was yet to happen...
Hill after hill after hill and the gas gauge starts to fall.
We were in desperate need of a gas station but there weren't any to be found. And yes we were still traveling up hill.
Finally the GPS unit stated we were 12.9 miles away from the nearest gas station, but we were already in the red and still going up hill.
Well of course we barely made it into the gas station just in time. And that's when we decided to change seats; it was my turn to drive (bad decision).
All the up hill driving.... These hills had to come down sometime...
Just as I started to come over the second hill I notice rear tail lights station to the far right of the road, I immediately pull the e-brake to slow down but it was too late....
20 minutes later I'm back on the road with a traffic citation claiming I was driving over 100mph in a 70 or 80mph zone.
"How was I doing 100 mph?.. When I looked at the speedometer it read 80."
I know how because the economy is bad and that cop had to meet his monthly quota... No but seriously driving down the next hill I monitored the speedometer. I watch how easily we got up to 100 miles per hour traveling down hill. I did not even have to accelerate because gravity was pulling us down hill and very fast...
Either way he could have gave me a warning instead.
For some reason the officer kept asking us if we were military................
Saturday morning we slept in just a little bit before preparing for our D1 experience.
The drive from San Diego to Anaheim was beautiful.
Only in California do you see bikers doing 60mph on the freeway right next to cars...
Yes... there were models. But these models aren't the ones we came to see!
It was obvious; the growing trend of VIP in the USA.
Can't forget the RC-drift cars...
Now that's angle...
One trend I did not expect to see at the show was the Donk, Box, & Bubble cars. I know it's big in the south but there were many represent'n at this show.
Import scene was properly represented.
Lots of drifting, pictures, and fun with friends made the day go by so fast.
